Hi, I’m Scott Yip.

When I was eighteen I wanted to be a journalist. I talked myself out of it, and became an accountant instead.

Fast forward a few years, and I’m a data scientist. Professionally, I am no closer to journalism than accounting was (haha). But it did give me the tools I was missing to sate a restless mind: a way to frame questions, test claims, and tell stories.

So this is the outlet. I write up things I’ve measured, modelled, or thought so long about I ought to write them down.
